## Conclusion

The **[WAEC](https://www.waecnigeria.org/) Igbo Syllabus 2027/2028** is divided into three major areas: Language, Literature and Culture.

For Language, concentrate on comprehension, composition, translation, the sound system, tone, spelling, grammar, word formation, word classes, phrases, clauses and sentences.

For Literature, prepare both Oral and Written Literature. Learn the major forms of oral literature and study the current WAEC prescribed books thoroughly. The current 2026–2030 written texts include **Jụọ Obinna, Otu Mkpisi Aka and Akụnuche**, while **Mbe Agaba** and **Abụ Agụrụọnụ Ndị Igbo** are prescribed for Oral Literature.

For Culture, prepare both **Omenala** and **Ewumewu**, including greetings, ceremonies, hospitality, traditional beliefs, festivals, games, political institutions, social institutions, occupations and religious institutions.

Most importantly, practise writing Igbo regularly. Paper 2 requires candidates to answer in Igbo, so reading the syllabus without practising actual writing will not be enough.

Use the complete syllabus as your main checklist, study the current prescribed texts and combine your preparation with WAEC past questions.
