## WAEC Economics Examination Structure

The Economics examination consists of **two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2**.

Both papers are taken as a composite examination at one sitting.

### WAEC Economics Paper 1

Paper 1 consists of **50 multiple-choice questions**.

You are required to answer the questions within **1 hour**.

The paper carries **50 marks**.

Because objective questions can be drawn from different parts of the syllabus, you should study the complete subject rather than concentrating on only Demand, Supply or National Income.

### WAEC Economics Paper 2

Paper 2 consists of **eight essay-type questions** divided into two sections:

- Section A
- Section B

Section A contains **two data-response questions**.

You are required to answer **four questions in total**, choosing:

- One question from Section A
- Any three questions from Section B

The paper lasts **2 hours** and carries **80 marks**.

You should therefore practise both conventional essay questions and questions that require you to analyse economic data.
