LIST OF JAMB CENTRES FOR BLIND CANDIDATES 2026/2027

List of JAMB Centres for Blind Candidates 2026/2027: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is committed to ensuring that all eligible candidates have equal opportunities to access tertiary education in Nigeria, regardless of their disabilities. As part of this commitment, JAMB has made special arrangements for blind candidates who wish to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in 2026/2027

How to Register as a Blind Candidate 2026/2027

Blind candidates who want to register for the UTME should follow these steps:

  • Visit any accredited JAMB registration centre near you and obtain the registration e-pin.
  • Fill the online registration form with the help of a registration officer. You will need to provide your personal details, choice of course and institution, and biometric data.
  • Choose only examination towns and not centres during registration. A list of examination centres (dropdown menu) is available for any candidate who indicates that he or she is blind. You can choose the centre closest to your residence. You can select up to three examination towns.
  • The registration officer should indicate by typing BLIND and also pick the option of sitting for the examination for the candidate. The options are BrailleRecorded or Read Aloud. You should choose the option that suits your preference and ability.
  • Complete the registration process and print out your registration slip.

How to Write the UTME as a Blind Candidate 2026/2027

Blind candidates who have successfully registered for the UTME will write the examination in designated centres across the nation. The examination will be conducted by the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG), a team of experts and volunteers who are trained to assist blind candidates.

The mode of examination administration is a blended use of Personal Computers and the traditional Braille slate and stylus/typewriters in writing answers to questions that are read out by a subject expert. The blind candidates will take the same test items as those who are not blind.

The JEOG will monitor the registration and examination of blind candidates on a daily basis. If any issue arises, the JEOG will raise alarm immediately and not wait till the end of the registration or examination exercise.
