As candidates continue preparing for the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), many questions are coming up about the documents required at the exam centre.

“Apart from the reprinted slip, do we also need to bring the thumbprint slip we received during registration?”
Here’s the clear answer based on JAMB’s guidelines.
No, You Do Not Need to Bring the Thumbprint Slip
Candidates are not required to bring the thumbprint confirmation slip to the exam hall.
The thumbprint slip was given during registration to confirm that your biometric data (fingerprint and picture) was successfully captured into JAMB’s system.

What You Must Bring on Exam Day
The most important document every candidate must bring to the exam centre is:
- The reprinted JAMB examination slip, which shows your exam date, time, centre, and seat information.
JAMB officials will also use live biometric verification (thumbprinting again) on the exam day at the centre.
You do not need to bring the old thumbprint slip for this; they will scan your fingerprint directly.
Some centres may also ask for:
- A simple means of identification (such as the JAMB registration slip or school ID card) if necessary.
Important Reminders for Candidates
- Make sure your printed exam slip is clear and readable.
- Arrive at your centre at least two hours before your exam time.
