## How to Use the WAEC Health Education Syllabus to Prepare

### Start With the Complete Syllabus

Use the PDF as your main revision checklist.

### Separate Theory From Practical Topics

Mark every topic as:

- Theory
- Practical
- Both

For example:

**Cells and Tissues** — Theory and Practical

**First Aid** — Theory and Practical

**Food Nutrients** — Theory and Practical

**Health Screening** — Theory and Practical

**Consumer Health** — Mainly Theory

This helps you prepare properly for all three papers.

### Practise Diagrams

For body systems, practise both:

- Identification
- Labelling

You should also understand the functions of the labelled structures.

### Use Models and Real Materials

Where possible, practise with:

- Skeleton Models
- First Aid Kits
- Food Specimens
- Charts
- Thermometers
- Microscopes
- Stethoscopes
- Health Screening Materials

### Study Diseases in a Consistent Format

For each communicable disease, organise your notes under:

**Disease → Causative Agent → Transmission → Signs and Symptoms → Prevention → Control**

This follows the structure given in the syllabus.

### Study Body Systems in a Consistent Format

For each body system, use:

**Organs → Structure → Functions → Processes → Disorders → Practical Activities**

### Practise Past Questions by Section

After studying each major area, answer related questions.

For example:

Human Anatomy → Anatomy Questions

Nutrition → Nutrition Questions

First Aid → Safety and First Aid Questions

Diseases → Communicable and Non-Communicable Disease Questions

Family Life → Reproductive Health Questions

### Prepare for Paper 3 Early

Do not wait until the examination is close before preparing for practical work.

Paper 3 carries **80 marks**, so practical preparation is a major part of the subject.
